It is served by a dedicated service road, good footpaths and a cycle track which is part of the Sustrans national network. There is also a small children’s play area nearby

Historically, the facility was built and provided by Persimmons Builders over 30 years ago, as part of a quid pro quo arrangement with the Village resulting in the build of a medium sized housing estate which partially wraps around the field.

The Hub provides an important and contrasting community facility which balances and greatly extends opportunities for residents to pursue a range of interests, activities and sports in a pleasant environment.

The village has a strong record of promoting social events with many different activities taking place throughout the year. These are supported by residents of all ages. Prior to the Lock-down periods many of these took place at the Hub.

The responsibility of managing the Hub has recently passed from a Community Interest Company back to the Parish Council. The Council are working with a group of local volunteers to restore and develop the facilities. A new Charitable Incorporated Organisation was established on September 14th 2021 with trustees drawn from local residents. The Registered Charity Number is 1195804

The Hub seeks to be inclusive of our diverse community. We welcome all races, ethnicities, religions, genders, sexual orientations, disabilities, languages and ages.

In collaboration with the Parish Council, The Hub has recently commissioned a community consultation survey seeking views on village life generally, how the Hub and its activities might specifically be best used to improve living in Flax Bourton for all its residents.
