Your responsibilities as the hirer
- The lead hirer must be 18 or over.
- You are responsible for the premises, guests, parking arrangements and the behaviour of everyone attending during your hire period.
- The venue must only be used for the agreed purpose and must not be sub-hired.
- Any damage, loss or unreasonable cleaning requirement may be charged to the hirer.
Safety and compliance
- Keep fire exits, escape routes and fire doors clear and working.
- Follow the fire, emergency-lighting and first-aid instructions provided with the venue.
- Smoke, fog, mist and dry-ice machines are not permitted because they may trigger the alarms.
- Portable LPG heaters are not allowed.
- Any electrical equipment you bring must be safe and in good working order.
- Assistance dogs must be admitted.
Noise, music, film and alcohol
- Recorded and live music are permitted within the venue rules, but music must stop by 11pm and doors and windows should be managed so neighbours are not disturbed.
- If you want to sell alcohol, you must obtain the relevant temporary licence from North Somerset Council.
- If you show films, you must comply with age ratings and any copyright requirements.
- Illegal drugs, violent behaviour and excessive drunkenness are not permitted.
Food, housekeeping and care of the building
- If you prepare or serve food, you must follow food hygiene requirements.
- No smoking is allowed inside the building.
- All rubbish and recycling must be removed at the end of the hire.
- Report accidents, dangerous occurrences, breakages or damage as soon as possible.
- Do not attach decorations, fixtures or signage to the building without prior written approval.
Cancellations, Wi-Fi and other important points
- Full payment is required to confirm the booking.
- Refunds for cancellations up to 14 days before the hire date may be made at the trustees' discretion.
- Wi-Fi is offered on a best-efforts basis and cannot be guaranteed to be uninterrupted or suitable for every use.
- Wi-Fi passwords and access details must be kept confidential.
